Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will my manuscript be error-free after editing?
Editing, by nature, is a multi-round process; not all errors within the text may be caught within one or two rounds of editing. Most traditionally published books are edited multiple times throughout the book-making process, and even then, it is not uncommon to have a small number of grammatical errors within the book when it goes to print. For this reason, HBE Publishing recommends multiple rounds of editing to ensure the cleanest manuscript for publication.
Q: Will I be able to speak directly with my editor?
Absolutely, that’s one of the many things that sets us apart from and above the big name competition. The HBE Publishing Content Media team will also be available throughout the editing process to answer any questions you may have.
Q: What are the editors’ qualifications?
HBE Publishing hires professional editors from across the publishing industry with experience in a variety of book genres. All of our editors have extensive experience in the book industry, be they published authors, writing instructors, or own and operate their own editing companies. We carefully select each author for his or her knowledge and expertise in a specific genre.
Q: Do I need Microsoft Word if I purchase an editing service?
No. While we prefer Microsoft Word, as it is an excellent tool for reviewing and accepting or rejecting an editor’s recommendations, Google Docs will perform the same functions and is a free alternative.
