Anne Biggs was born in Castlepollard, a mother-baby home in Ireland, and lived in an Irish orphanage in Dublin through her fourth birthday. Though in poor health, she was brought to America to live with her new adoptive family. She overcome many health issues and graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in English Literature, and later received a Special Education Credential from Fresno Pacific University.
She spent over 25 years in the classroom, the first 10 teaching high school Honors English, and the last 15 in Special Education. In 2008 she located her birth mother and traveled to Ireland and with her daughter, where they were able to spend quality time with her birth mother. After learning about her mother’s treatment from the institutions run by the Catholic Church in Ireland, Anne was inspired to create the characters in her first novel. She continues to live and write in Clovis, California with her family.
